Christmas is here! Do you like polvorones? We love you come up with a delicious vegan recipe for the festive seasonvegan polvorones. Here you have the recipe to prepare them and to enjoy them with your family of a vegan Christmas:
Ingredients
- 300 g wheat flour
- 150 g sugar
- 150 g vegetable margarine
- 100 g ground toasted almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- zest of 1/2 lemon
- icing sugar for dusting
Elaboration
- Put the flour in a frying pan or in the oven and leave to cool.
- Put the toasted flour on a smooth, dry surface, make a well in the middle and pour in the almonds, margarine, sugar, cinnamon and lemon zest. Knead until a compact dough is formed.
- Roll out with a rolling pin into a sheet approx. 1.5 cm thick.
- Cut into circles or ovals and place on a baking sheet lightly greased with vegetable margarine.
- Bake for 10 minutes at about 200ºC or until lightly browned but not burnt. Remove, leave to cool and sprinkle with icing sugar.
Variants: can be made polvorones with other flavours by adding other ingredients to the dough, such as cocoa powder, cinnamon (more), vanilla, almonds, aniseed, etc. Tricksif you don't have margarine, you can use olive oil.
